VETERINARY SERVICE

DR. MARY MATHENGE - BARAKA VETERINARY LTD

SUCCESS NARRATIVE OF HOW KENYA LIVESTOCK FINANCE TRUST (K-LIFT) HAS REALLY BEEN A WONDER LIFT OF BUSINESS
Baraka Vet Ltd has over the years advanced its business both in growth quantified in volume expansion, rise in margin, network connectivity and goodwill all as result of partnering financially with K-LIFT.

CREDIT FACILITATION:-
Our business was very small initially before we started partnering with K-LIFT.  K-LIFT is very accommodating and flexible when assessing the demands of its clients.
Credit requirements are considered depending on each particular case and the loan products are very affordable when compared to the loan market in the country.

INITIAL FACILITY:
K-LIFT lent our business an initial facility of ksh 500,000. This facility was of great support when it was immediately injected into the business. Baraka Vet Ltd prudently managed the sum and as a result the two (2) branches:-Njabiini and Engineer expanded. We fully managed to pay the goodwill and stocking at the same time.

SECOND FACILITY
Our business had by now shown considerable growth. Having successfully cleared the first facility, K-LIFT doubled the loan facility to one (1) million (kshs).
This facility has really boosted our capital base and has thus facilitated to among others:-expanding of artificial insemination (AI), agency business and opening of yet another branch at Olkalau town-now the headquarters of Nyandarua County.

WHY THE SUCCESS:-
Our organization has put in place management mechanisms free from the usual weakness bothering many businesses. We have thus employed professional employees with good remuneration and incentives, having realized that labor, as a factor of production is the cornerstone of every business.  Currently, Baraka Vet, Ltd. employes 5 people thereby contributing to job creation

VISION
We aspire to be the county leader in the agro vet and AI agency services in the near future.

LOAN PACKAGE VIEW COMMENDATIONS
Any aspiring farmers, veterinarians and paravets and those with existing livestock businesses please take cue and liaise with K-LIFT for easily accessible and affordable credit package(s) for growth. The facility conditions are favorable and not stressful. Experience is the best teacher, we have tested the waters and succeeded .Please take heed and follow suit.
